KOREA Day 2, The Magical Everland

If you’re an avid kdrama or kvariety watcher, i bet you’re familiar with Everland as it has been featured in a lot of them. Everland is located on the outskirts of the city and the best way to go there is by the public bus from Gangnam Station

How to get there

Take the subway to Gangnam Station and embark on Bus 5002 to everland ( most of the passengers will disembark at Everland so worry not). Be careful to check the bus’ timetables during your return trip from Everland to Seoul as it will be hard to get by if you missed the last bus.

Admission Fee

56.000 Won (+- Rp 672.000) for adults

Park hours : 10.00 – 22.00

The admission fee for Everland is by far the most cheapest for a theme park (compared to universal studios/ disneyland and the likes) which i think is due to the less branded characters in Everland (?). Everland consists of 5 different areas, European adventure, Magic land, American adventure, Zootopia, and Global Fair. Which area did i love the most? definitely zootopia, lol. I love animalzzz. When you first entered the park, you’ll be greeted by this giant tree which adjusts its theme to every seasons / event. It is located in the Global Fair Area.

got this ULTRA CUTE giraffe hat the moment i get in which functions as both a cute headpiece & barrier from the scorching sky

I went straight to the zootopia where they have a ‘walking zoo’ and also a guided tour zoo using this cool amphibian like car which can transports both on land and in water (its been featured in running man, the one that have eun ji won & jessica SNSD as a guest). There were a lot of animals ranging from the giant Panda to the mischievous fennec fox. I had a lott of fun here, but for those who’s just so-so towards animal, it can be rather boring, y’know.

me in a nutshell
cute as a fennec fox (cringing as im writing this HAHA)

After scouring the entire zootopia, it was already time for the show! the show’s purpose is like the disneyland parade but unfortunately it fails to capture quite the magical aspects (imho). I enjoy it nonetheless. One particular thing that captured my attention is this jumping grasshopper?! idk, its just ultra weird but ultra fascinating at the same time HAHA. Look just how high it can jump! lel. There’s also this couple sitting in front of me where the boy holds up a bag to his gf’s head to shield her face from the sun, he definitely will have a sore arm going back home (i could only imagine the pain).

so freaking weird

The european adventure section of the park is definitely the most popular one as it beholds the magnificent wooden roller coaster ( The T Express) which screen time is probably 10000x than most living people in this world HAHA. I hadn’t had the chance to ride it tho, becoz 1). im not so much an adrenaline junkie and 2). the queue was like 20 m long (no kidding). Therefore, i just grab some lunch and take some pics here. Everland’s foods are in the range of low-mid price for a theme park.

so pretentious i know

Beside the roller coaster, the european adventure also has this beautiful flower garden which makes it quite a good theme park to visit with your old folks. While you are busy going from here and there in the theme park, your folks can just wait here while sipping some tea and get a bite of chinese cuisine in on of the restaurant here. This garden is also featured in countless drama due to its gorgeous fountain and flower garden + rose maze. It is so huGEEEE that taking a stroll in the park would take up to 2 hours of your time.

me and my lurvs (chickens)
just one of the many beautiful spot in the garden

Magic land is mainly some kids’ rides and some water rides. I happened to ride on their carousell (its just a staple for every theme park) and the queue wasn’t that long either so why not, right (justification). American adventure is basically the ‘it’ spot for you all adrenaline junkies, but for me id rather pass it, thanks.

It was overall a great day in Everland. Merch wise, as a merchandise lover (meaning someone who always has to get a merchandise), it’s rather dissapointing but it’s mainly due to the unfamiliar character which doesn’t hold a sentimental value for me (for example like toy story in disneyland or harry potter for USJ).

bucketlist: always try a different mcd menu in every of my overseas trip

Grab a shrimp beef burger from McD on the way home for supper and may i say it tastessssss GOODDDDDD. It’s time to hit the bed, yeay! That’s all for my everland trip and hoping to see you guys again in my next posts (hint: it will be about dongdaemun + bukchon! tehee :] )

KOREA DAY 1, Gyeongbokgung Palace + The Youngster Roundabout

WOHOOOOOO! First day ever in Korea!! Upon arriving in Korea, after dropping our baggage at our hotel we went straight to the *drumroll* Gyeongbokgung Palace! I had such high hopes because this is one of the most go-to place when you visit South Korea. Plus, it has been featured in countless dramas and korean variety show!.

How to get there

Take the subway to Gyeongbokgung Station and get out at Exit 5. You literally will get out right next to the Palace.

Admission Fee

3,000 Won (+-Rp 36.000) per adult (> 12 years old)

Gyeongbokgung Palace was built in 1935 (the Joseon dynasty, bet u all kdrama fans have heard that quite a lot) and is the most popular palace in South Korea out of its’ 5 siblings due to its size and aesthetic structure. It was destroyed by fire during the Imjin War but is later restored and remained a legacy up till today. Beside the palace, there is actually 2 museums located beside the palace, but i didn’t go due to the scorching heat and there are literally no crowds there. When i went there, the sky was so pretty it’s almost surreal, look at dem sky?!

Beautiful korean girls amidst the surreal sky

I’ll be honest with you, before i went i really thought that Gyeongbokgung was just a grand palace with a grand architecture and so on, but turns out they have a pretty luscious and very spacious backyard with a lake. I’m guessing this is where the king/ queen did their afternoon stroll with their countless royal maids and guards.

chilling w/ resting b*tch face
chilling while doing a pretentious laugh

If it’s suitable to your itinerary, i suggest visiting the palace at around 10 a.m or 2.00 pm to witness the Changing of the Royal Guard Ceremony. I haven’t been to the Buckingham one but i think it might give a pretty similar vibes with a taste of respective culture. There are really not much you can do in Gyeongbokgung Palace except maybe taking a stroll and hoarding your fair amount of pics. After spending our afternoon there, we decided to head to common grounds, which is quite the ‘hot spot’ to hang out for korean youngsters.

Common Grounds Korea

How to Get There

Take the subway to Konkuk Station and get out via Exit 6. From there, walk straight ahead for about 250 m and you’ll already be able to spot the distinct containers.

Admission Fee

For those who are visiting from Indonesia, you might wanna skip this one if not for the vibe because you can easily spot these sights of containers in Tanjong Priok, Jakarta. It was honestly pretty bland but the night vibes were great. There were a lot of food from different genres, choose the one most suitable for your tounge and the konkuk area itself was pretty jumpy (Sorry for the lacking pics T^T). Apart from restaurants, there were also some korea local brands store which i have no idea about.

would be a waste not to take pic even though these containers are everywhere in Jakarta

After eating, we decided to go back to the hotel because it’s been a tiring flight (with a transit at Ngurah Rai) and we’re gonna go to Everland the next day! yeayyYYY! Discover my Everland adventure here.
